Amuse (or if you prefer, amuse.io) is a partly free music service for music distribution good for starting and even skilled musicians. Even I began with music using it from Start to Danger Out There, and even an upcoming remix of Start (😮)

In this blog, I would like to summarize how to release music with it, and how easy it is completely (with screenshots from the website). In this example, I am going to use my upcoming remix.

1st Part - Release datails

This part contains every single piece of information about your release. That contains:

• Release Name (ex. Start (Lil Mat B Remix)
• Label (Only with Amuse Pro, else will be filled with primary artist name)
• Genre (ex. Dubstep)
• Language of the release (ex. English)
• Cover art
• Perfect square .png or .jpg with size of 3000x3000 px - 6000x6000px
• Should not contain any blur or pixelation (on the phone you will be asked if it contains any of it, and reason)
• Should not contain any logos or text (except Artist name and/or Release Name, you will be asked about this on the app, too)
• If any of this rule will be broken, the release will be rejected.

When you will finish, you can click "Next" and continue to the next part.

2nd Part - Track Info

In this step, you will be prompted to upload tracks for your release, rules for tracks are:

• 16-bit audio
• 44.1kHz (44100Hz)
• .wav or .flac format

When you will upload your track, it will have a red circle with the exclamation mark inside. This will indicate, that some of the important pieces of information aren't filled out. That includes:

• Track name (If you upload only one track, it will be the same as the Release name, and will be filled out automatically)
• Version of the track (I recommend left untouched)
• Recording year
• File (Here you can preview your track)
• Vocals
• Explicit content (if the previous field filled with No, select Not Explicit)
• Track Origin (Original, Remix, Cover. Original is original song or remix of your song, remix is remix of somebody else's song, cover is cover of somebody else's song)
• ISRC (if you have one, otherwise left empty)
• Artists (Here you can add main artists, featuring artists [feat.], or remixers)
• Contributors and Writers (of the image)

After you're done, click Save.

Now, instead of the red circle, there will be a green circle with a tick symbol. Click next, and continue to the next step.

3rd Part - Splits

This one is pretty simple. You assign splits for your tracks, between you and contributors (if you have some). Then click next to continue to the last step.

4th Part - Delivery Options

This part contains:

• Stores:
• Free stores: Spotify Apple Music, Youtube, Amazon, Tidal, Deezer, Napster, Claro Música and Shazam
• Stores for Amuse Pro: Tiktok, Instagram, Nuuday, Soundtrack for Twitch, Facebook, Soundcloud Go, and Anghami
• Countries of availability
• Proposal date of release (can be changed only with Amuse Pro, else you will be contacted when a release will be approved, and then you will set release date)
• Original release date (If this is a re-release, click Yes, else No)

Then just click "Review".

Review

In this step, you will just be presented with most of your choices, and if you have a contributor, you will be asked, if you accept a 15% fee. When you click "Review", Amuse team will get over your release, and check if everything is OK. The status of your release can be found on your website or in-app dashboard.

Final Verdict

As some of the information on the amuse.io webpage may sound like it is the best place to release your music, it isn't completely true, since there are over 50 music stores, and Amuse supports only 15.
